Variable is showing both a switch and a light in GH

I have configured a state variable to act as a switch in GH. I have '0' as off and '1' as on. In the main GH screen it shows up as switch. If I long press the switch icon, it takes me to the device screen. On that screen it shows a dimmer control. I can select a dim value between '0' and '100' using the rotary slider. It will then update the state variable to the dim value I select. When I go into the device setting screen in GH, it is also listed as a switch.

This seems like strange behavior. Is this intended?

Configure browser push notifications
Chrome (Android)
  1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
  2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
  3. Adjust your preference.
Chrome (Desktop)
  1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
  2. Select Site settings.
  3. Find Notifications and adjust your preference.
