GQuack Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Trying to find the tag for Steven Goulet listed as the author of the Onkyo node server but unsuccessfully so far. I've installed the node server and looked at it. Looks like the capability is limited to ON/OFF and volume for a zone, is that correct? Any way to select the input source for a zone?
Techman Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 @GQuack I believe that he is no longer supporting or developing the node server. I use network resources to control my Onkyo. If you search the forum, you'll find info on controlling the receiver via your network resources. What model Onkyo do you have?
bpwwer Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 There are two node servers that support Onkyo control. You might want to try the OnkyoAVR node server instead.
GQuack Posted August 30, 2022 Author Posted August 30, 2022 Zone On/Off and volume doesn’t get me where I was hoping. I think I will try the other one just to see if it works AND look for other posts on network resource control. Techman, the model I have is: TX-RZ810.
Techman Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 @GQuack Attached are the Onkyo ISCP codes in excel format. Your receiver isn't listed but the codes still may work. Give it a try. Onkyo ISCP PROGRAMMING CODES.xlsx
GQuack Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 Thanks folks. I did remove the other Onkyo NS and installed the OnkyoAVR NS and oh, so close! It does work and seems to have most of the commands available but only supports the main zone. The main zone will be great but I was really hoping also for control of zone 2 which is for my outside patio. @tangowhiskey1 are you out there and willing to add zone 2 support if possible? I'll take a look at ISCP codes also. Thanks
GQuack Posted September 2, 2022 Author Posted September 2, 2022 FYI, I also tried the AVRemote NS suggested by @Dub and it is really close functionality as well. With that NS, all 3 zones are there for my Onkyo and all input selections are there with the exception of Streaming Device input which is one of my main interests. 1
