IOX finder not found

Featured Replies

Posted

Just upgraded java to 3.51  and when I try to start my isy994 I'm getting "IOX finder not found"  with no selections in the box.  Don't think I have any need for IOX but something must have changed in start.jnlp.

Running insteon_5.3.0.zip

Go to solution

Clear your java cache, including installed applications

Download the IOX Launcher:  https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp

Note: the ISY launcher was renamed IoX Launcher

Are you on Windows or a MAC?

Not windows or Mac,  Linux

Have done what was suggested...  still get the error.  Really pissy because I was hoping to start cooking my Xmas turkey using the ISY to start it in middle of night...  But now my isy994  is no longer.

I've been using the following to start UD:  /ftparea/jre1.8.0_351/bin/javaws /home/bmarsh/SmartHome/start.jnlp

Using the newly downloaded start.jnlp

And I get:

Hey bmarsh,

I'm a windows user that hasn't played with Linux for years.  My Win10 system does regularly "forget" the ISY location.  I normally "Load" from a saved file, or "Add" the location manually.

Assuming you know the local IP address for the ISY, you can simply "Add" as follows as shown below (use your own IP address of course).  Note that the "HTTP://" is mandatory.  If you want to add with security, simply use "HTTPS://"

If this works, save yourself some headaches in the future by using the "Save" button to save the file to a convenient location.  You can then "Load" at some point in the future when the loader forgets the settings.

Thanks IndyMike...   I did just that....  before you posted and it worked like a charm.  Not only that, but when I brought it up this afternoon, I didn't have to do anything special....  I guess it remembered the IP address but also the header said "ISY Finder" this time.  Not sure that would be correct since I read that the ISY finder had been renamed to IOX finder.

But in any event, problem solved.
