This is probably the worst product....

This is a little bit of a rant and a lot of frustration.  As an medical device engineer I am probably pretty critical of products and how they work, but the shear frustration the past several weeks is wearing on me.  If my products fail, there is a good change you end up with more complications that can be life threatening.

One day the system is working, the next day, none of the programs are responding because the devices aren't recognized and need to be resynced. How many times do I need to write changes and resync?  They just aren't syncing.  WTF.

Starting to figure out that the battery operated zwave locks that would last for 3-4 months now have a life of 3-4 weeks.   Dropped $500 for this heartburn.   I understand the enormous ecosystem, but why was the 994 with zwave working and now it's a cluster.

I understand your frustrations. You are not alone in having issues with the migration to eisy. Michel and Chris are working hard at resolving the bugs and they have already made significant progress. In the meantime they spend hours or should I say days... in helping users resolving issues.

As has been posted by others, UD ran into supply problems with Polisy and decided to move to updated and more powerful hardware, which is eisy. Hindsight is 20/20 and they should probably have waited longer with the roll-out. It is what it is and I have full confidence that it will all be resolved so that eisy becomes the stable environment that we are used to.

Chris did connect with me last week (I appreciated his time) and was able to get the door locks up and running... then 5.5.6 and only one out of four is working.

Personally I used to look at this as the rock for my zwave network and that if HA goes down, ISY through Google Home is still usable.  Now I am willing to forgo the "stability" that I have come to have known and push forward with HA and Zwave only.

I haven't been ISY customer from earliest days but I'm willing to bet ISY didn't become stable platform overnight either. There are always growing pains. Also, I think majority of issues are related to ZMatter specifically, which is kind of Beta supported. That is, if you take zooz stick and use that instead (with S0, instead of S2), I think everything should mostly work. I think maybe firmware updates should be managed slightly differently with a way to back out. But if you want more stable system, go back to stick, stop updating firmware and wait it out.

I use and like HA as well, but I find programming much more powerful with ISY. Having the 2 working together works for me.

I find the HA with triggers to be more flexible and robust.

I did order a zooz stick.  Need to look into removing the current zmatter and replacing it with the zooz.  Probably another weekend of work. 😁 Assume it would be better to wipe all devices and start fresh.

I find they are both very powerful, perhaps equally, but they are very different.

Did you do anything with those locks after update? Recreate links? Re-enroll? Or just stopped working?

You will, unfortunately, need to use pre-ZMatter backup to go to stick :( But I can tell you that it works. As does Chris's fix.

Just stopped working. Couldn't lock, unlock.

Well that would be going back several months ago.  So maybe a rebuild or move to another hub. I have readded/reset several devices post migration.

My fallback plan was to use stick with HA just for locks. And it works fine except writing user codes requires a bit of work.

But then Chris fixed it for me. It really sucks that newest update seems to break locks. I'll wait to update until issues are worked out.

I have it to only one lock that isn't functional.  Pulled the batteries before I left town.

Another lock doesn't seem to indicate alarm status. Chris mentioned a fix coming.
