MS I address

Recommended Posts

The only way that I can think of would be the following:

  1. Manually link the motion sensor to one of your existing devices.  Manual for the MS I is here: https://cache.insteon.com/documentation/2842-222-en.pdf
  2. Using the Admin console, right click on the device that you linked to motion sensor to.  Select "Device\Show device links table".  The last entry in the table (one that does not match the ISY) should contain your motion sensor address.
  3. Link your motion sensor using the e"link Management\link a sensor\Motion sensor" tab.  Enter the address you found in step 2.
  4. Assuming step 3 worked, use the ADMIN console to restore the device that you linked to manually.

Edit - Graphic

In my case the MS address was 21.4D.F3

That was the way I did a few of the Insteon devices Smarthome sold as an X10 replacement. When X10 was in transition.  They took the original label off and changed it but did not re-flash the firmware. So they where still Insteon capable.

I had to also do it with a Insteon Controllinc.
