InsteonNut Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 All, I've submitted MobiLinc Pro/Lite to Apple for approval tonight. Here are the following features and fixes in 2.13.00 for the ISY users: - Fix to allow MobiLinc to run on the iPad and iPhone/touch. - My Settings new options: - Startup Password: If enabled, MobiLinc will now require the Insteon controller's password to use MobiLinc. - Guest Mode: If enabled, MobiLinc will default launch into My Favorites and require the Insteon controller password to leave My Favorites. - Prevent Sleep: If enabled, MobiLinc won't allow the iPhone/touch/iPad to go to sleep. - Added SwitchLinc types 1.25.x.x and 1.30.x.x. - Programs on the Favorite page show program status. - Modules listed in the scene module list are now sorted A-Z. - Other bug fixes. Apple can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to approve updates. I'll update this post once Apple approves this update. Wes
TS99 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi everyone...2.13.00 is now in the iTunes store. Wes, if I could request an enhancement for a future release Add a button to quickly return to the MobiLinc home/startup screen that exists on all screens. It could appear in the upper-right corner of the app. For an example of this check out the IMDB app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imdb-movies-tv/id342792525?mt=8 In the IMDB app, tapping the IMDB logo takes you back to the main screen.
InsteonNut Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Hi TS99, There is a similar feature already built into MobiLinc. If you briefly shake your device, MobiLinc will return to the default start page (home page, or My Favorites, etc). I went this route instead of taking up screen space with a button. Do you still think this would be a good option to add? Wes
TS99 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Hi TS99, There is a similar feature already built into MobiLinc. If you briefly shake your device, MobiLinc will return to the default start page (home page, or My Favorites, etc). I went this route instead of taking up screen space with a button. Do you still think this would be a good option to add? Wes Wes - thanks. I was not aware of that feature (shaking to get to home screen). Now that I know, I don't see a need for adding a button. Also, after using the app some more I see the device screens have a button in the upper-right corner to query the device. So those screens would be unable to have the extra button. I'm really liking MobiLinc Pro and for those of you on the fence about buying it, just buy it, it is well worth the money.
belias Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I second TS99 - MobiLinc has turned out to be a great purchase. It's fast, easy to use and so far the support has been excellent. I asked for something like the "guest mode" a few weeks ago - and here it is! Now I can let others in my family use it to control the lights without having to worry about them executing/disabling programs, etc. Awesome! -Brian
aLf Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I'm on the fence! There is a basic and advanced option on iTunes. Which one is the best? Wes, any chance of camera options in the future? aLf
InsteonNut Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Hi aLf, There are two versions, a Lite version and the Pro version. The Lite version was designed to allow you to check out your setup to make sure you have all the right hardware in place before purchasing the Pro version. As such, the Lite version only supports one device and one scene to verify communication and hardware interoperability. Thanks for the feedback on IP cameras, I am currently working on adding IP Camera support as a plug-in option. Wes
aLf Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Thanks Wes. I guess the "lite" is too lite! I will become a customer soon. If I can help you with testing of cameras, please let me know. I have an extensive camera setup at three locations (one of which is ISY/Insteon). All are Panasonic. aLf
Illusion Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Really liking MobiLinc. Thanks for building such a nice interface. Feature request: Allow multiple check marks for favorite program actions. I have a program for which I would love quick access to the "Run Then" and the "Run Else" actions. As it stands now, I can only put one of these on my Favorites screen. Small frustration: Not infrequently, the MobiLinc app complains of no internet connection while the phone info bar shows good conectivity and other apps seem to do okay with this at the times in question. Do I just sit on the front page a wait a bit and MobiLinc will again try to establish a connection, or do I exit the app and restart the app?
InsteonNut Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 Hi Illusion, Thanks for the feedback. I'll add the multiple program favorites to the feature list. I'll take a look at the no internet connection error message. What is happening is the phone is more then likely attempting to log into your wifi network and it's taking longer then expected. I'll see what I can do. Thanks, Wes
