GJ Software Products
I’ve got two physically identical flood light controllers however they both display a different “type” I guess you’d call it, one displays “Home Security Alarm [S2 Auth” and the other displays as “Home Security Alarm [S2 Auth Unauth”. Can I enable S2 Unauth by modifying a file in the eisy or do I need to remove and add back in? Is it even possible to reach into the Matter dongle if that's where it's saved? One the temperatures displays in °C and the other displays in °F. I’ve looked for a Configuration Parameter in the documentation but don’t find anything. And I’ve had trouble with one, excessive triggering of the motion sensor without cause. So I went digging around in X-Ray looking for Configuration Parameters, SW/FW version levels, etc. and of course there’s a bunch of tags/elements but I really don’t know what I’m looking for. Some basic ones like DH Controller/String DATA controller.data.firmware.version = "0304.00000C34.1711", String DATA controller.data.firmware.build = "7.18.3/0"; DH Device\ Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMajor = 1 (0x00000001), Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMinor = 0 (0x00000000) all match. While the tags are pretty self-explanatory I’m still guessing “Controller” is the hub vs. “Device” is the remote Hardware device and so on. Although written documentation could confirm if I’m interpreting this correctly. So, I guess I’m looking for a crash course in X-Ray of/on Z-Wave devices/nodes and/or any documentation available. How much of this is defined in the Z-Wave standard and/or managed by Silicon Labs? Are these tag names UD's? Does anyone got any pointers/thoughts/input? How can I determine what is different between these two devices? Thanks in advance for any help. Much appreciated. Thanks, Grant Link to comment
RPerrault
not going to get much z-wave help here here is some info that might help The current in-force specification package for certification is available here. Link to comment
GJ Software Products
@RPerrault Thanks. Yea, I've been digging through here and the UD Wiki and don't find much. I Can't even find a clear definition on Update with Interview. It appears that Interview gathers the Command Classes but what, if anything else does it do? Likewise Update with Interview what does that update? Just the available CCs? Located where? I'd like to gain a better understanding of Z-Wave but there's a boat-load of reading to be done and right now I'm just trying to find the release/patch version of a device which I guess appears in X-Ray. I've found a couple "suspect" fields/variables but I need to verify I'm looking at the right things. I.E. Firmware vs. Application? DH is? Although I've reviewed a fair amount of stuff I still can't get it to all line up. And it looks to me like there could be more docu on the UD UI, explaining things like Update with Interview, what does it do, what does it effect, what to be aware of, etc. Details of X-Ray? Maybe I just haven't found it yet? Link to comment
RPerrault
i suspect ud does not give us a way of easily exploiting a lot of what z-wave does i am going to continue my exploration on a thread i started with ud, there is no way to set up associations that i have found of issuing a command like this 3.2.4.4 Association Remove Command The Association Remove Command is used to remove NodeID destinations from a given association group. or set up the association - or get reports on groups (i suppose xray issues different reporting commands but not all) so i am going to play with a zooz stick and silabs software - that does support all that stuff Link to comment
GJ Software Products
Yea, I too have the Zooz stick and Simplicity Studio I use for flashing but it's a PITA to remove the device, bring it into the lab (just to get a FW ver. #), and maybe there's another way to get into it but the Home ID isn't going to match my Zooz stick so I have to reset it, which when I Add it back to UD it'll be a new node. In some of my recent readings I've found a Replace with Interview which would keep the node ID's the same. I think there's a replace option in IoX but again I don't find any documentation on that Action. I did find others are having the same problem with device version 1.0, they call it firmware v1.0 but in IoX X-Ray I find two tags/elements in DH Device: Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMajor = 1 (0x00000001) Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMinor = 0 (0x00000000) which the Major and Minor fields match that of the supposed problematic version, but on the mfg's forum others call it Firmware Release and here UD X-Ray is calling it application, so again I can't find any docu to line up. And I'd also like to know if I can do a Replace and the node IDs will remain the same and if there's anything to be careful of. I know UD's got their work cut out for them with the release of eisy, Matter, & the like, but more/better documentation on the UD implementation of Z-Wave sure would be nice. Link to comment
