I have an Insteon keypad that I'd like to put into a "child-proof" mode if possible. Is there a way to prevent the switch from turning on the light at all as a part of a bedtime scene/program? Ideally, it would be controlled by a keypad in another room.

I can imagine a few ways to accomplish this, depending on how the light and keypad are wired. Is the keypad hardwired to the light?

If the light iis hardwired to the keypad, then you can change the On Level (dim level on single button press) to 0% with a program, then back to 100% when time has ended.  This will still allow a Fast On (double press) to turn on the lights, but single press will turn the light to 0%.

If the light is not hard wired to the keypad, there are multiple ways to accomplish.

There's no way to override what happens when a switch is manually controlled. Javi's idea is the closest you can get. The double tap is built into the code. You can have the light immediately turn off if turned fast on. 

The only way to accomplish what you want is to use an embedded module connected to the lights or what bulbs with the switch controlling that.

Back in the old Insteon forum days (days of yore..) somebody took a poke at the deep documentation and determined that you can indeed sever the front keypad from the back control, including the fast on, creating an additional device in their ISY (so an 8 button keypad would have an xx.xx.xx.9 device added) to control the connected load.

I don't recall that it was easy to do, and obviously the ISY doesn't have the built-in functionality, but it is technically possible.  Most people just put a micro module behind their keypad for such requirements.
