OK, I think we're on the home stretch in getting to really understand the Notification Node Server (or is the preferred term Plugin now?). 

Screenshot1 show nodes 2 and 3 that I have defined within the Notification NS/plugin.  Node is the ISYPortal Service Node I created by filling in my API key from UD Mobile.  It shows up in the Admin Console - see screenshot2. It, and the UD Mobile node are listed under the Notification Controller Device. 

Q1: Is the ISYPortal Service Node even necessary? Or can I just use the UD Mobile node and custom messages from Configuration/Emails/Notficiations/Customizations?  If it is necessary, where/how is it used? 

Q2: From screenshot2, the Device is set to group Kent which is great. The Message is 0 because I don't have any predefined messages from the Configuration tab of the Notification plugin.  (I had a couple test messages there but deleted them because the instructions say that is not the best way to do that anymore.). I can't see any reason I'd send a message from this screen with the "Send Message" button at the bottom.  Is that correct?  Is there a reason other than testing that I use it here? 

Q3: When I press the "System Custom Content" button, no message is generated. But if I push the "Send Sys Custom With Params" button, I get the UD Test Message showing up under Notifications in UD Mobile. Why does "System Custom Content" not send a message? 

Let's start with these.  I'm trying to gather enough helpful info to put in a "Notifications for Dummies" kind of doc to share. Thanks!

Q1: ISYPortal node is not necessary, that was implemented before UDM node was created.  But, ISYPortal does have more functionality, which is not always needed.  UDM mode was simplified.

Q2: It is not necessary now that custom content is available, unless you prefer that for short simple messages.

Q3: When you press the "System Custom Content" button it sets the message that will be used if you click the "Send Sys Custom" at the bottom.

@Jimbo.Automates Thanks for the responses! Is the additional ISYPortal functionality what is described as "REST Interface"?  I really want to learn more about how to use that.  

Also, what is the best resource you know of to use the pushover.net service with your Notification plugin?

With the new ability to use custom content there's not much need to use the REST interface.

Not sure of any other reference for pushover besides their website.

@Jimbo.Automates can I make a suggestion that features that are really no longer needed (but may still be used) be moved to a section in your readme me file called OLD FEATURES or something like that? It would help new users like myself sort through what I really need to read and focus on.  This is a nice plugin but I'm still trying to sort out all the pieces.  If there were some I knew were old, out dated features, I could skip them entirely.  Just a thought.
