Kentinada Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 First, I have never received any response from Resideo Support regarding resetting my old password on the Honeywell Home Developer site. So I decided to try using a new email address. I created an account with my new email address (one I would only use for this purpose) and I got all the way through the node server installation instructions to the last step where it failed. From the installation instructions on GitHub, both my thermostats show up, I click CONNECT and then it hangs and never gets to the point in the instructions below where it shows the User ID. So I'm back to dead in the water with Honeywell Thermostats. Anyone else made it this far and farther?
Kentinada Posted January 12, 2024 Author Posted January 12, 2024 I opened an issue on GitHub for this plugin but have had no response from the author.
Goose66 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I believe this plugin was ported from PG2 by @bpwwer several years ago. I don't believe the original developer is involved at this point.
Goose66 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 (edited) I chatted with Resideo support. They can see my thermostats and the "ISY Node server HomeAutomation" app or integration. This particular support rep doesn't seem to think anything has changed on their end. I wonder if the current problem lies with the authorization step. It asks you to specify "https://udi-honeywellhome-auth.azurewebsites.net/auth" as the authorization callback. This appears to be a website created by the original developer dbarentine 5 years ago. I wonder if it still functions? Sounds like this plugin needs to be brought up to newer standards and more tightly integrated with UD's oAuth and websocket infrastructures. Still doesn't explain why resideo support is not responding to password reset requests, however. Edited January 12, 2024 by Goose66

Goose66 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Selecting "Chat with a specialist" at the bottom of this page: https://www.resideo.com/us/en/support/
CLipman Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 @Kentinada have you managed to get it working yet? I just tried again, even creating a new account, and the resideo auth from the azure server continues to fail each time.
Kentinada Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 No, I did not. I sold my Honeywell thermostats and replaced them with Ecobee. Very happy with them. And they interface to the EISY though a plugin with no problem.
oberkc Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Just tried and the authorization app on the azure server and it continues to not work as I expected from the instructions (no response, no userid).
Randy M Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Finally found this post. Thank you oberkc and all. I have had the same problem/results. Does any one know how to get this flagged or removed from Polygot plugin store so others don't waste their time with this?
Randy M Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 UPDATE: replaced Honeywell Smart (?) thermostat with ecobee premium thermostat. On the expensive side of smart thermostats but received a $100 rebate from the utility company. Had a wiring issue during installation but ecobee has excellent customer service and actually corrected incorrect wiring of the old Honeywell thermostat. Polygot plugin installed easily with no issues. Highly recommend ecobee if you can justify the extra bucks. 1

It's designed to be an home automation integrated product and I'm not as worried about them pulling the rug out from underneath my working system like Nest would have. I bought mine from them as refurbished for $125 and it came with one remote sensor... in my experience that's good money for something that works.
Randy M Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Thanks paulbates....Completely agree... I payed $229 new w/remote sensor and after $100 rebate it was $129. As you eluded, it's well worth the money. It works on everything the first time out of the box and way more data than the old Honeywell. I'm very pleased with the purchase. 1
