RPerrault
has no power but i still get this Link to comment
Techman
What's the device you're trying to remove? Is it battery or a/c powered? Have you tried a controller reboot Edited January 20 by Techman Link to comment
Techman
Did you put the blinds motor into the linking mode before trying to remove it? Edited January 20 by Techman Link to comment
Techman
You can also try, under the Zwave menu, remove failed node Link to comment
RPerrault
placed the isy in exclude - then pressed the button - nothing used the 'remove failed node' and get the above Link to comment
Techman
Have you tried removing/exluding the device rather than just the node Did you try rebooting ISY Edited January 20 by Techman Link to comment
RPerrault
not sure what the difference is - this is what the devices look like i think this one was added twice - and i might have a battery problem - it should be fully charged but i powered it with the charging device and it might be responding - it might be that i included it with it plugged in and it is not seen as a battery powered device lemme look at x-ray Link to comment
Techman
Is the motor working correctly? If you only have one motor and it's showing up twice, then try a reboot. If the reboot doesn't correct it then delete the duplicate motor entry. Edited January 20 by Techman Link to comment
RPerrault
using the motor control node the device stopped responding so i was replacing it - worked fine for a week - then nothing - no responding at all - so i was going to replace it - after removing the failed node Link to comment
Techman
Rather than removing the node, can you remove the device. Are you trying to replace the existing motor with a new motor Link to comment
RPerrault
yes - but have never used the replace on a z-wave how do i remove the device rather than the node? Link to comment
Techman
First plug the battery charger into the motor, then in the zwave menu click on remove a zwave device and then put the motor into the linking mode. I'm assuming that your controller is a eisy/polisy and you're using the Zmatter dongle Link to comment
RPerrault
oh - yes - i tried that - no response i am using the eisy with whatever radio it uses for z-wave - i do NOT have 'zmatter'' enabled (whatever that is) i do have z-wave enabled Link to comment
RPerrault
tried exclude device with it plugged in - it excluded might be the battery - i'll replace it Link to comment
Techman
1 minute ago, RPerrault said: tried exclude device with it plugged in - it excluded might be the battery - i'll replace it I had that happen with one of my motors, the self contained battery failed and I had to replace the entire motor. Glad you were able to exclude it. Is the battery removable or do you have to replace the entire motor. Link to comment
RPerrault
the battery is its own unit - plugs into the motor - i have extra units that i can rob a battery from Link to comment
RPerrault
thanks for talking me through it Link to comment
