ulrick65 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Can anyone recommend a good (and cheap ) place to buy a complete Elk system and/or make recommendations on what I should get. I have an ISY-99IR. Things I need: Wireless Sensors (doors, windows, motion, etc.) Smoke and Fire detection Integrate with ISY two keypad (which one is better?) Any other recommendations? Thanks.
WayneW Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I recommend Automated Outlet. And they are also an ISY dealer now http://www.automatedoutlet.com/Home/Elk ... Automation Call them for their best price as there are limits to what can be advertised on the internet. To use the ISY, you will need an XEP Ethernet add-on module. Keypad is mostly a personal style choice, but there are some functional differences. http://elkproducts.com/products/m1/M1_Keypads.htm For wireless, I suggest the XRF2G and GE sensors http://www.automatedoutlet.com/Home/Wireless-Sensors Lots more Elk info and opinions available at http://www.cocoontech.com
apostolakisl Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I got mine from a little known company called setnetpro.com. I think it is a pretty small operation since if you call you can talk to specific people very easily. They were quite willing to help with equipment choices. On a lot of stuff their prices are hands down the best, but not everything. For example, I just bought an HAI C3 unit from them. They were more than $40 cheaper than everyone else. ($230 with shipping). You do have to register before they give you their best prices, but they do actually knock a lot off the price.
