Ceiling Fan Turning Off

Featured Replies

Posted

This has been happening off an on for a while now. I have ceiling fan attached to an Insteon wall switch.  During the night, the light turns off.  Here is what is in the log.  Is there a way to find out what is causing this? Is this a bad switch?

Thanks,

Scott

It seems coincidental that the light goes off exactly 5 seconds after the change to 100%. I take it one or more programs is causing this. The group is Alexa Lights, are there Alexa routines involved?

I'd start with starting the event viewer (highest level) sometime earlier and hope it runs during this time.

Other ideas are to simplify by temporarily and systematically by one at a time disabling programs or its participation in alexa and see if it stops

I was having some switches go off at night when I wanted them on and found that Alexa sometimes will make an assumption and turn a device off because it's night and most lights were turned off. You can go into routines in the Alexa mobile app and see what she did automatically without commands.
