$39 for two years

Is it required in order to use the eisy?

No.

It allows you to access the eisy remotely using a secure connection.

The portal also provides these features

  • integrate assistants like Alexa and Google home for verbally controlling eisy
  • Geofencing
  • Remote access to eisy maintenance features remotely: reboot, upgrade packages
  • Creating other accounts for other users to access eisy features with different access levels

There are also a couple of plugins that require the portal, including Ring and a soon-to-be-released Nest plugin. These plugins utilize push events from the associated cloud services to provide near-realtime status updates obviating the need for polling. The push events are sent to a UD web server which is forwarded to the particular eisy or Polisy via the portal.

I hadn't thought about that one. I have the ring plugin and use the ring as a front motion sensor for premise lighting. I barely get out the door and the lights are on.
