mfbrin Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I have an ISY994i that has been working very well. Most of my programs are working. However, for some reason, several in one folder, but not all of them, have stopped working. I can manually do a "Run" for the program and it does fine, but on it's own, it does not work. The programs are simple. If between sunset and 11pm, Then turn ON, Else turn Off. The devices are Insteon. Any thoughts?
mfbrin Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 There is no condition in the folder, and, it is enabled. Interestingly, it turned off at the proper time. It started when I moved the ISY temporarily to a new location. I moved it back to the original location and am having the current problem. Strange since I can manually turn it on from the dashboard, but it does not turn on automatically. I thought I would recreate the routine from another folder and see what happens. LMK if you have any other ideas.

hart2hart Posted March 31 Posted March 31 At sunset, does the program show as true meaning it ran but the light is not coming on so a communication or device issue? 1
mfbrin Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Thanks for pointing me to the Log. The routine for the device did not try to execute. I looked at the flow in the folder, and the folder has 3 routines that didn't work since the outside plugs are unplugged as we are having repairs in our back yard. One of them prior to an error and 2 after the error didn't run. I disabled the routines that should not run, and I can allow it to run this evening and see what the log says. Is there an instruction that if there is an error, then it should proceed? Any other thoughts?
mfbrin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Here is what happened: the light switch did not turn on at Sunset. I ran the "If" after sunset and then it turned on. However, it automatically turned off at 11pm. Therefore, the ISY recognized the command. What do you think is going on?
Techman Posted April 1 Posted April 1 @mfbrin It sounds like your communications between the PLM and the device are marginal. Take a look at the troubleshooting tips. INSTEON: Troubleshooting Communications Errors - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki (universal-devices.com)
gregkinney Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I went through something similar recently. An outside light that was supposed to turn off at 11pm was still on each morning. However, I quickly moved past the issue that it was the program because that unchanged program had been working for 8+ years. Additionally, when I would open up the admin, I would get a message saying that it could not communicate with that problem device. I think @hart2hart and @Techman are both correct that it's a communication issue. Here was my journey:
