Ecobee PIN/Log issues

Recommended Posts

Have a few strange issues with the Ecobee plugin. Went to install for the first time and never saw/got a PIN (not even sure what screen/page it should show up on). Did the usual reboot, reload, stop the node, start the node, checked out the configuration page and, of course, tried to look at the log(s).

The log page is empty. When I try to download the log I see this: File not found: /var/polyglot/pg3/ns/0021b902646e_4/logs/debug.log

Pretty much at a loss as to where to go next.

Here is some sys info, if needed:
PG3x Version 3.2.27
Status: Connected
Frontend Version: 3.2.27
IoX Version: 5.8.4

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Based on Jimbo's comments in the install docs, it says not to proceed until you have the pin, which is presented at first startup. I would uninstall the plugin, restart the eisy and try again.

Done. Uninstalled and even reset the device.

Still nothing. I do find the logging or being able to get the logs an interesting artifact. I SSHed into the box and still could not get to those log files.

Where should the PIN be seen? I can't find a location where it shows. Getting the PIN for the Ecobee is pretty easy. I feel like something is missing overall.

I set up my ecobee last year following the instructions... but as it was that long ago I don't remember exactly where I saw the pin. My guess is that it showed up first time on the plugin configuration page after first install and setup. The config page and node page are dynamic when they discover things like new nodes. (I recently added an ecobee sensor that showed up under nodes)

The PIN will show up in a notice in the PG3 UI, exactly the same way plugin upgrade notifications show up.

Something catastrophic is happening if /var/polyglot/pg3/ns/0021b902646e_4/logs/debug.log is not found.

Please do a Download Log Package and PM that to me.
