ZWave migration ... I'm lost

Purchased a new EISY + dongle ... reading the guide, I'm stuck at the ZWave section

Preparing for Migration from ISY-994

On your ISY-994

  1. Make sure the ISY-994 has firmware 4.x or 5.x,
  2. If you are migrating your Z-Wave network
    • You must be using a 500 Series Board in the ISY-994  >>>> How do I know what version my ISY-994 is ?
    • Make a backup of your Z-Wave network (Admin Console | Z-Wave | Backup) >>>> Ran the backup, but where is the file written too ? (no options pop'd up ask where to store the file)

According to the ZWave "Version", it shows 6.81.00 and "Help / About" shows  Product  - ZWave (21100)

What is the current version of your ISY firmware, in the admin console click on HELP | ABOUT

Do you currently have Zwave devices installed in your ISY994, if so, how many?

The ISY Zwave backup is stored in the ISY, there's no need to know its exact location

In the ISY click on Zwave and look for its firmware version, that will determine what Zwave board you have installed.   The 300 series Zwave board has a blue led on back of case, the 500 board does not have an led.

Is your EISY using the external Zwave/Zmatter dongle?

DO NOT update your ISY firmware until you know what Zwave board is installed in your ISY

If your ISY994 firmware is currently 5.3.4 and the rear of your ISY does not have the blue led showing then your Zwave card is the 500 series, so you're ready for migration.

Make sure that you backup both ther ISY994 and Zwave before starting migration.  You should also do a firmware update on the EISY before migration.

Exactly follow the migration instructions below:

Eisy:User Guide - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki

After migration you need to review all your programs as some may need to be manually updated. Also perform a zwave and EISY backup after migration.

Just to clarify, Blue LED on the back ... aka all of the connectors > side ?  (no LED)

The front are all Blue LED's like TX RX etc

Not sure if you're saying you do, or do not, have a blue led on the back of the ISY994, please clarify.

At this time all other leds and connections are irrelevant as we need to determine what Zwave board you have installed and if your existing firmware is correct for the installed Zwave board.

Note: the 300 series Zwave board is only compatible with ISY firmware 5.0.16C (and below).

Sorry, if the "back" of the 994 is where the connectors are, serial, network and power ... there is no LED on my 994
