I am new to zigbee but trying to setup smart lighting in Europe where Insteon does not work easily. As a test I bought a Moes zigbee dimmer switch. Eisy finds it and interviews it but the only command eisy shows is Query. Moes expects me to be using their gateway but I hoped any zigbee gateway would work. Any ideas how to make the switch do something useful? Any better zigbee options for europe?

I've not had any experience with Zigbee. It's possible that the European version uses a different coding than the U.S. version.  It's probably best to open a support ticket with UDI.

Zigbee operates in the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands. With the 2.4 GHz band being primarily used for lighting and home automation devices in most jurisdictions worldwide. While devices for commercial utility metering and medical device data collection often use sub-GHz frequencies, (902-928 MHz in North America, Australia, and Israel, 868-870 MHz in Europe, 779-787 MHz in China, even those regions and countries still using the 2.4 GHz for most globally sold Zigbee devices meant for home use. With data rates varying from around 20 kbit/s for sub-GHz bands to around 250 kbit/s for channels on the 2.4 GHz band range).

Zigbee uses a low power mesh network protocol (802.15.4), so it's possible that @tjkintz may need addional devices to improve his network communications. 

All, thanks for the responses. My initial installation was really a test setting for zigbee and to see if my led lights were dimmable. They aren't! The distance from the eisy to the switches is less than 10' so it isn't the mesh network, and eisy finds the switches, just cannot do anything useful with them. Moes says a Tuya or their gateway is needed but I wanted them to work with eisy so haven't gotten one of those. I'll submit a support ticket but it will probably end up being a failed experiment. 

Regarding zigbee frequencies, they differ from country to country but I configured the module for Portugal which is where I am. Having said that, I see no way to know or configure what frequency the switch uses.
