mitch236 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I have connected an i/o linc to my gate and it seems to be working however, maybe I don't understand how these relays work. I am only using the no and com connectors. I have them connected to the single button input on the gate. When I change the i/o link's relay from off to on and then back off, the gate opens but won't close until I cycle the relay again. I was under the impression that the i/o link when Off the no would be open (no connection between the two wires) and when On the wires would be connected. Is this correct?
Brian H Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Yes if set to continuous mode {Default}. It should close the NO to C with an On and open it with an Off. There is a catch. You can program the relay to use reverse logic. An On command can open the NO to C and an Off command can close the NO to C. Look at the Set LED on the module. When you send an off command it should be dim. If it goes bright it is in the reverse logic mode. I believe how it acts depends on the relay being on or off when it was linked to the system. The full description of how it is programmed is in the online full user manual. See the I/OLinc Relay Modes part of the manual. http://wiki.smarthome.com/index.php?tit ... elay_Modes
