I have two Apple TV set ups. When I ask Apple TV upstairs  to start (this phrase triggers a bunch of a/v gear and changes the lights) it said

apple tv is in a mode that doesn't accept requests

when I ask the downstairs Apple TV to turn on it says ‘enjoy the movie’ as it should but then doesn’t trigger any gear

is there an outage or something up with some AWS or the portal?

I should add timers and scenes work fine.
(maybe not timers, I’ll have to check but a few lights that should have shut off this morning didn’t)

I asked Alexa to turn on the blu ray scene (a/v gear and a lighting scene) and it just changed the lights but didn’t trigger any of the gear.
I have the harmony hub and when I get back home I’ll see if the remote triggers everything correctly

Everything seems to be working again. I'm unclear why it didn't and now why it does.

I'm assuming bit by bit the gear of old will become obsolete and we'll buy new stuff. I'm really hoping the EISY will control all the lighting and A/V gear etc and other things (ceiling fans, other WIFI enabled stuff around the house)

I'm not a big fan of having to have Alexa handle some thing and not the EISY
