EISY will not link to Insteon Keypad

Featured Replies

I am trying to add an Insteon 2334-232 6 Button Keypad to my EISY.

Message comes up:

The following device could not be added

58.80.94

- Cannot determine Insteon Engine

I've tried autodiscover;

Using Manual the 2334-232 is not listed so I tried using the 5 button 2334 and tghe 8 button.

differnt outlets;

tried resetting the switch

Not sure what else to do?

Go to solution

"Cannot determine Insteon Engine" usually means that the PLM is unable to communicate with the device.

Verify that the device address is correct, it's not uncommon to misread the 8 and the B

If you're still having issues, then relocate the PLM to a different outlet.

Note: the 6 button KPL is recognized as the 5 button KPL by the system, the on and off buttons are treated as one button..

Alternately, click on "Start Linking" (under Link Management at the top in Iox) and then press the link button on the keypad module.

Also old Eyes read 50.80.94 on the switch, it was actually 50.8D.94

You aren't the first...you won't be the last 😁
