Do all ZMatter modules support Z-Wave Long Range?

Featured Replies

I bought my ZMatter module back in Sept. 2022 - it reports as Z-Wave Module 21100 in the IoX admin console - does it support Z-Wave Long Range?  or is there a newer version that I would have to purchase to get that capability?  Is there a significant benefit to long range for indoor use in a larger 2 story house?

The zmatter module is supposed to support Zwave LR. However, when installing a zwave LR device I was never givren the option to use either LR or Mesh, so I believe they installed as mesh.

Zwave LR by-passes the zwave mesh network and communicates directly with the Zwave controller and has a longer range than a non LR device

Here's an article explaining LR

After reading that and noting that Zooz is now selling Zwave 800 series (=LR?) products - is it possible that UD is using confusing terminology and that the ZMatter is not a Zwave 800 series LR device?

From the UD website (see below) - note that it only mentions Zwave 700 series with possibly higher power?

Start enjoying the enhanced range afforded by high caliber external antennas (on the sides) in conjunction with SiLab’s 700 series Z-Wave and Zigbee/Matter radios.
