August 28Aug 28 Hi there, I have a Filterlinc whose Filtered plug was dead. No power when the module was plugged in. I opened up the case and did a continuity test on the fuse, which was open. Do I replace the bad fuse with a 10 amp unit? The label states that the filtered circuit handles a 10 amp maximum load. Are there other things that go bad in a filter module?
August 28Aug 28 No on 10amp. The fuse protects the filterlinc's circuitry, not the load plugged in. The fuse is a 3.15 A, 250 V, slow-blow (time-delay) fuse. Usually the fuse spec is on the body/caps of the fuse if you take it out Edited August 28Aug 28 by paulbates
August 28Aug 28 The 1626-10 filterlinc is 10 Amps and the fuse is a 10Amp with wired leads and ceramic body.. The 1626 5 Amp looks exactly like the 10 amp version inside except the fuse is 5 amps. I acutely have some spares i bought. There is a real old thread here where other issues where found. Like bad and failing solder joints on the PCB. I will see if I can find the ones I bought and give more details. FilterLinc.pdf Edited August 28Aug 28 by Brian H
August 28Aug 28 I found some information I added to the box for a FilterLinc. 5mmx20mm, 10Amp, fast blow, ceramic body, with leads As previously mentioned. The old fuse should be marked. Maybe with a number from China where they where made. My spares are Littlefuse 216 series.
