18 hours ago18 hr Was setting myself up for the upgrade to the latest on my eisy and issued an ssh tail to /var/log/messages and saw this:Sep 23 12:37:04 eisy ntpd[1545]: error resolving pool pool.ntp.org: Name does not resolve (8)If I hit the pool.ntp.org directly, it resolves to some luggage website. Is there a place to change the URL for updating the time? This seems to be buried somewhere that is not evident.
18 hours ago18 hr Hi Jim,you may want to investigate the DNS server your network is using. "pool.ntp.org" is a legitimate FQDN to resolve time, although there are country specific variants. Here is what I get using nslookup on Windows from my network:Non-authoritative answer:Name: pool.ntp.orgAddresses: 72.30.35.89 23.143.196.199 23.186.168.131 23.168.24.210From https://www.ntppool.org/en/use.htmlLooking up pool.ntp.org (or 0.pool.ntp.org, 1.pool.ntp.org, etc) will usually return IP addresses for servers in or close to your country. For most users this will give the best results.Rob
