Power Outage-Lost Programming

Due to a power outage, I lost the Administrative Console programming. Now when I enter the program folder "if" schedule I cannot access the "Then" Action. All I get are the "if" part and error messages. I did a factory reset on the ISY-99i but that didn't help. How do I erase the console and start over from scratch? :?::(

Hi rtt3821,

There is no Then section for folders. What errors are you seeing?

Did you have a backup to restore before you performed the reset?

It may be the PLM locked up after the outage, if you haven't yet I suggest unplugging it for a few seconds.

I am mainly getting "Request Denied", "Failed enabling internet access" and "Request Failed". My flash drive failed so I don't have a ISY backup. How do I get back to square one and start over from scratch? Also is it possible to change the font size and page color for the console? Does doing a factory reset put the ISY back to the original IP and etc.? I did one but the IP didn't change.

I second the unplug/15 seconds/re-plug. Since my PLM is not on a UPS (for obvious reasons) but the ISY is, I have this problem everytime our power flickers or goes out (we have a lot of thuderstorms and an occasional brown out this time of year). I am having to unplug and re-plug the PLM just about everytime.

EDIT: In a few of these situations, the ISY will indicate that communication with the PLM is not possible based on the the lights on the front. But, in most, the only system is 'Communication Failure" pop-up messages that seem to reslove themselves once the PLM is reset.

It really sounds more like your PLM was toasted. When you use Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Info does the PLM show connected? Can you add any devices to the ISY?

For the IP address I believe Darrell helped you set a reservation in your router. This is based on the MAC address of the ISY and a reset of the ISY will not change this. A reset of the router would eliminate this but I don't know why you would want to. As it is you should still have internet access to the ISY.

Thanks for all your help guys. Everything OK now. Checking the PLM status was the key. My CAT5 cable was the problem. Changed it and everything is up and running. Thanks again.
