Disable a Scene

Featured Replies

I have a few scenes with motion detectors and SWLs. How can I disable a scene without having to remove the motion sensor from the scene. My situation is when I want to light to stay on and for the motion detector not turn the light off when no motion or timed out. I've tried disable each device within the scene but the motion still trigger on and off commands.

I know I can put everything into a program and disable the program but programs are slower than scenes.

Thanks,

The Insteon architecture does not have a device or Scene disable function. The ISY Disable suspends the ISY activity with the device but does not stop Insteon devices from communicating directly with each other (Scene).

One approach is to set the Motion Sensor into On Only mode which suppresses the Off command. The On command from the Motion Sensor will continue to activate the responders without the latency associated with a Program. Then use a Program(s) with whatever override logic needed to turn the responders Off.
