simonsez Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I have just got my Isy and I'm juet beginning to set it up. I have slowly been switching over my X10 to Insteon and my home is now about 97% Insteon devices. I have a lot of work ahead of me to remove my CM11A and Heyu so I figured I would start with a few basics to get comfortable with the Isy. I successfully added two devices to start with, a 2486D in my master bathroom and a 2476S in my kitchen that controls a flood light in my backyard. One of the buttons on the 2486D is to turn on the flood light. My question is how to link the two of them together. I know this can be done by hand, but I thought the recommendation with the Isy was to use it for all Insteon programming / linking. I have looking in the manual and through the admin console but I can't figure out this simple thing.
LeeG Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 simonsez Welcome to the ISY family. Define an ISY Scene using the Admin Console using Link Management | New Scene. Right click on the KeypadLinc button, select Add to Scene.. . selecting the KPL button as a Controller. Right click on the SwitchLinc, select Add to Scene… and add it to the Scene as a Controller. The ISY assumes a Controller is also a Responder. Once the Scene definition has been written into both devices all the necessary cross-links will have been established by the ISY. Lee
