how to make garage door keypad button blink when door open

Does anyone know how to make my garage door keypad link button blink when the garage door is open?

I have the garage door programmed on button H of the keypad link and it's setup to toggle on/off for open and close.

It works great but want to add the feature to make it stand out a bit more when the door is left open it would blink the H button light.

Any help would be appreciated.

See ISY Garage Door Layout attached file if need be.

Thanks,

In order to “flash†a KPL button (in your case button H) you would need to create a scene and place that button in the new scene as a responder. Then create a new program with the condition you want (garage door open). Place the new scene in the Then section of the program turning the scene on wait x seconds then turn off the scene and repeat.

The problem is every second or two the ISY is sending the scene on/off command – flooding the power lines with Insteon data.

It would be very cool if you could have any kpl button flash on its own, maybe one day SH will add that feature to the firmware.

Another alternative I have read about on this forum would be to change the color of the lens for the button. I have not tried so I am not sure how it would look.

Another option might be the beep function to help get attention. You will need to test it with your keypad as some versions of switches and keypads support it.
