I don't want my wife to accidentally click on zone 6 or 7 as they are not used (no piping to them) and if she click on them it will active the pump and kill the system (I have Zone 8 setup as pump). Is there some kinda safeguard I can program in for these two zones to never come on or just delete them? Thanks, Mike
LeeG Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 mikeneal The solution is to jumper zone 5,6,7 together ( or whatever in use zone you like to 6&7). That way if they are accidently turned on the pump will drive an existing zone. You can right click on the node representing each of those zones and delete each one but there is no way to get them back. Lee

If I delete zone 6 and 7 you say I can't get them back. I don't ever image having a zone 6 or 7 as the sprinkler system is complete and will not be adding zones in the future so I take it I can just delete them with no issues. Also if I do delete them I can get them back but would have to re-add the complete EZFlora....is this right? Thanks, ---Mike
LeeG Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 No harm that I am aware of except that they cannot be restored individually. The entire EZFlora would have to be deleted and added back as a new device. Had another user who had deleted the unused nodes and wanted to get them back. I suggest jumping 6&7 to some valve even if the nodes are deleted. I had a lightning strike that fried a Rainbird controller before I switched to the EZFlora. Pump ran with no valve open. The pump got hot enough to expand the composite pump housing which allowed the discharge pipe to slip a few threads. Had a column of water shooting 10' in the air. Was fortunate as I think the pump would have been permanently damaged had the water not found a discharge point. Also installed a mechanical pressure relief valve. This was not the result of turning on a non-existent zone but the results were the same.
