RemoteLinc 2 and ISY99i

I purchased a RemoteLinc 2 and cannot for the life of me get it to work with my ISY99i. I am running the latest version 2.8.16 and do not want to play with beta versions until stable. Please advise how I can get this done.

Thanks

The RemoteLinc2 is not supported until 3.1.10. That Beta has a good track record. You could try calling the RL2 a RemoteLinc. The number of nodes will not be correct and I'm not sure the links can be written when describing it as a RemoteLinc. The newer RF only devices such as the Motion Sensor and the TriggerLinc require I2 linking which the RemoteLinc does not. Do not know if the RL2 supports I1 linking like the RemoteLinc or requires I2 linking. My RL2 arrives Saturday at which point I should be able to answer that question.

The only supported option is to go to 3.1.10. There is a fix, 3.1.11, for users who have the optional Network Module and do not have the Weatherbug module. There is a problem with network module network resources at 3.1.10 if the Weatherbug module is not installed. I suggest trying 3.1.10. As with all updates be sure to take a backup before doing the install. You can always reinstall 2.8.16 if there are issues with 3.1.10. Be sure to follow the install instructions for 3.1.10, clear the Java cache and use the correct URL for invoking the 3.1.10 Admin Console.

You will need 3.1.10 or higher to support the RL2. The RL2 uses I2 linking so the use of the RemoteLinc device type will not work.
