Goose66 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Does the ISY 99i's Elk module support the M1EZ8 or just the M1 Gold? What do I lose with an M1EZ8? Thanks!
Chris Jahn Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi kingwr, We haven't done any testing with the M1EZ8, but in theory it should work, or at least only require a few small fixes to make it work. It is my understanding that the only major difference between M1G and M1EZ8 is that the M1EZ8 does not support voice or telephone, and has slightly fewer zones and outputs. It would best to have someone from Elk verify this though.
dlamb Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi kingwr, The M1EZ8 will work with the ISY-99i. The addition of the M1EZ8MSI (Main Serial Interface) and the M1XEP (ethernet module) is required for the M1EZ8 to connect to your network. The main limitation of the M1EZ8 compared to the M1G is that it doesn't include the voice capabilities and the built-on RS232 serial port. Here is a link outlining the differences: http://www.elkproducts.com/product_family_overview.html Regards, Don Lamb ELK Products
