stealle Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 First post here on the forum. I've been using my ISY-99i Pro for a couple weeks. Working out great so far... I'd like to start making some more complex scenes where some lights turn on while others turn off. Such as Movie, Bedtime, and Away scenes. I will be using RemoteLincs and KeypadLincs as the controllers. I'll start with a movie scene. I want to be able to push a button on the RemoteLinc to turn off all of the lights on my first floor, then turn on a couple table lamps at around 20% brightness. How do I do this? A scene or program? I'm sure this question has been answered several times, so if the answer is too complex to answer again, please please be so kind and provide a URL to the info. I'm obviously not using the correct keywords in my search.
apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 You answered your own question. "I want to make a movie scene" Go ahead and make a scene. Put all the devices you want to do something (turn on/off/in between) in that scene. Set each device to the desired level for that scene from on to off to in between. Include the KPL button you want to control the scene and put that in as a controller. All the others should just be responders. When you hit that button all the lights will go to whatever you set.
bmercier Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi Stealle, A nice thing to do for a "movie scene" is to use a synchrolinc on the TV which detects if it is turned on or off. As an example, when the TV is turned on in the everning, I use it to turn off the front lights and Dim the back lights to 18%, just enough to see the remote. When I turn off the TV, all lights in the room get to 50%. I also have a remotelinc to override this if need be. Now, a scene or a program? Depends. If the you only want your lights to follow the TV On & Off, scenes is the way to go. However, if you want to add any conditions, you need programs. An obvious one... you probably don't want the lights to turn on during day time. Therefore, you need programs. Let us know what you would like to achieve more specifically, and we can help. Benoit.
stealle Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Thanks guys... most helpful! The scene works great. However now I am having trouble with my lamplincs manual load sensing. The lamplincs are part of the movie scene. They dim to 20%. When I turn "off" the movie scene these lamps turn off just as I would expect. However, when I try to turn on the lamplincs manually they will only turn on to 20%. They are properly programmed for load sensing and worked as they should prior to creating the movie scene. Any solution?
oberkc Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Any solution? It may help if you would describe the problem. The lamps turn to 20% when activated locally...how is this different than your expectations? Please elaborate on how you think they "should" work.
LeeG Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 stealle Sounds like the “On Level (applied locally)†and “Ramp Rate (applied locally)†were changed during the Scene setup. These fields have nothing to do with the LampLinc as a Responder to a Scene. They affect the LampLinc operation when the device is manually operated locally. Select the LampLinc node in the My Lighting tree and see what these two fields are set to. Lee
stealle Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks Lee! Just as you said, somehow the "On Level (applied locally)" was changed to 20%. I changed that back to 100%. Now movie scene puts them at 20% but when I turn on the lamps manually/locally they turn on to 100% as they should.
