mrxmas Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi We just installed a new router, Linksys E4200. When I used the "Enable Internet Acsess" in the file dropdown it now says "Internet Enabled" In the help dropdown it now has a "HTTPPS # " So I am asumming that this router is compatible with the ISY. With our old router I could not get this far, it would alway fail. So I must be doing something right! However I still cannot acsess the Admin Console for my 3g cell phone! What do I need to do???
FrayAdjacent Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 AFAIK, you cannot get the Admin Console to run from a smartphone. The java applet won't work on it. If you can get to the HTML page, that's about as far as you can go. Conductor and MobiLink are a couple of the apps you could run from a smartphone, but you still can't do things with them that you can do through the Admin Console.
mrxmas Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 When I am hooked to wi fi I can acsess the system throught the router, It is a different page than the admin console. But I can control the lights. 3g can not. So the only way I can acsess through 3g is with a 3rd party app or something like that??? Say if I am in Montana, on a computer is that a way to acsess the system???
apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 If you can control your ISY from a smartphone webpage, you must have something like "touchswitch" installed on your ISY. Touchswitch is a webpage that lives on the ISY's webserver and runs on pretty much any internet browser. To have this, you must have paid for it and installed it. So, think back, did you ever do that? And the reason you are not getting to your ISY from outside your LAN is that you are probably not using the correct IP address. 192.168.x.x will work inside your lan, but otherwise you need to know your WAN. I suggest setting up dyndns on your router to give yourself a url that updates as your ip address changes.
