stealle Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I want to use two remotelincs in the bedroom. One for me, one for my wife. They will be programmed identically. Can two controllers be in the same scene? Or, do I need two sets of scenes for each remotelinc?
LeeG Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Simply add the buttons of both RemoteLinc2’s as Controllers of the same Scene. Same is true using multiple KeypadLincs, etc. Nothing special about the RemoteLinc2. An ISY Scene can have many Controllers. Oops. Same answer for two RemoteLincs.
Brian H Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I have two RemoteLincs and both have identical scenes on them.
oberkc Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Perhaps, too, there is a little confusion about the definition a "scene". The ISY-99 defines them slightly different than the basic insteon construct you get from smarthome. If you programmed these devices manually (tapping buttons, running around the room), you would create two "scenes"...one for each controller. Using the ISY to create these relationships, it will show up as a a single scene with two controllers.
Zellarman Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Lee, you referred to the remotelinc2, then sort of corrected yourself. Does the ISY support the new remotelinc 2?
LeeG Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Yes, the RemoteLinc2 is supported starting with one of the later 3.1.x Betas. If going to the 3.1.x Beta images 3.1.15 is the latest. Use New INSTEON Device and select one of the 3 RemoteLinc2 variants from the Device Type pulldown.
