Communication Problem

Recommended Posts

I successfully added a new 2476D Switchlinc Dimmer. No Prob yet. Programmed it fine. Later, when I tried to remove the switch as a responder from a scene, I was unable to do so..

Now when I query the switch, I get the message: Subscriber didn't reply to event.

What do I do now?

Thanks!

Most houses in the US have split single phase which means there are two 120V lines into the house. These 2 120V legs need to be coupled together. Insteon devices on one of the 120V legs will have great difficulty communicating with Insteon devices on the other 120V leg without coupling. Appliances such as an electric hot water heater, electric dryer, etc can couple intermittently so things may work for awhile and then stop working. There is a hardwired coupler that can be used at the power panel. Or two Dual Band devices such as an Access Point and Dual Band PLM 2413S which you likely have as part of the ISY installation.

You need to verify what coupling is being used and that it is working. There can be other sources of Insteon interference, cell phone charger, flat screen TVs, and others but correct coupling is where to start.
