sanders2222 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I recently installed the M1G and have set up area and zone information. I then tried to link my ISY to the M1XEP entering the IP address, port 2101 and 6 digit access code displayed on the RP software account page. I saved the settings but, aside from saving information on the Config screen, nothing seemed to happen. The refresh Topology button does not seem to do anything. None of the security information from my ELK appears under the module tab and the Elk Arm Stay and other buttons don't seem to do anything. What am I missing? Note: When I used port 2601 in the ISY Config tab, my XEP goes into a continuous re-boot loop and knocks out any network connection to the M1G.
gatchel Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 You should be using port 2101. Make sure you enable it in RP, also.
apostolakisl Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 You need to use a users password, not the Elk rp password and port 2101. To make it simple, check all of the boxes under "user authorizations" for that user in ElkRp software EXCEPT "Access".
sanders2222 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 I have enabled 2101 as a Non-secure port in the RP M1XEP setup tab. I changed the RP Access code to my User Code and all boxes under User Authorizations are checked (though I thought I read somewhere never check the Access box). I've verified there are no conflicts between my RP screen settings and the ELK. When I saved these settings in the ISY, the Admin Console locks up every time I click on the ELK module tab! Task Manager could not end it. The only way I can close the Console when it locks up is to log off my PC user account. Even though the ISY seems to lock up, the RP software seems to connect just fine. After some time, the Console was activiated and now there is some data that shows in the Elk module tab, but not much. All 5 areas show up in the upper half but if I arm an area, nothing on this screen changes. Nothing is listed in the lower half and the ELK buttons along the top do not seem to do anything.
apostolakisl Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Please re-read the post. I put the words EXCEPT in capital letters to point out that you do not check "access".
sanders2222 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 I just knew I read that someplace (duh). I unchecked the Access box and saved everything. If I click on the ELK module tab or topology button, the Console locks for several minutes and I am unable to use it to do anything during that time. When it comes up, there is no change to what I can do or see. 5 areas show up but I deleted 2 of them. So it would appear this is not current information stored in the ISY. As a side note, I have been able to use the RP but haven't been able to disarm the system from the keypad.
sanders2222 Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Problem Solved! OK, it looks like my problems were related to the old bootware/firmware versions in my M1XEP. It took a while to sort that out but once I did, I followed the update procedures and now have 1.2/1.3.28. The RP has been connecting as it should and now the ISY shows my information under the ELK module tab, plus it's reporting the armed status and areas show in the pulldown.
