Posted March 2, 201213 yr I read some information on grouping vs. scenes, but I really didn't understand it... Why would you group? When do you group? Thank you.
March 3, 201213 yr Can you identify the specific area you are reading about Groups. From an Insteon perspective, Group and Scene is the same thing. The term Scene is used in external end user material such as the Quick Start Guides, User Guides and sales pages on the Smarthome site. The term Group is used in the internal hardware reference material. Again, they mean exactly the same thing. Just depends on which document is being used. However, I don't know what you were reading where Groups were being discussed so Groups may mean something different. Need to know in what context Group is being used. .
March 3, 201213 yr Author Oh, it was in one of the Wiki guides...I was boring down into all the links....Thank you though. So, if I am using scenes, I don't have to worry about groups...
March 3, 201213 yr I would need to know exactly what you were reading that discussed Groups to answer that. There are other subjects that use the term Group. KeypadLinc Button Grouping for example. That discussion would have nothing to do with a collection of devices (Scene).
March 3, 201213 yr Author Thank you...if I run across it again, I'll copy the link. I've been reading so many different pages, I'm confused as to where some things are now. I'm sorry.
