Replacing a device - Does the old one need to be connected?

I just managed to break my keypadlinc popping off the button tops (man those are cheaply made).

I am going to replace this. I know you are supposed to add the new keypad, and then do the "replace" option.

Does the old keypad need to be on the network to "unlink" it? I can't imagine so, but I wanted to check before I do this.

Thanks!

No. The ISY assumes it might be defective and already physically replaced. No communication attempt is made to the device being replaced.

Thanks, that's what I figured.
