jmed999 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I soldered my Venstar T1700 per this thread http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3513&start=30 Now the humidity is stuck at 2% on the ISY. Does anyone know a way to get it to read 0%? Thanks!
LeeG Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Reboot the ISY. If the value comes back to 2% that is the value in the thermostat. Then reset the thermostat and reboot the ISY in that order.
hart2hart Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I soldered when this was discovered. Sorry to say ...Even if you reboot and get all to zero, the tstat will. Eventually register a non zero value again. EDIT: Forgot that depending on version you can configure tstat not to send humidity updates so once at zero should stay.

LeeG Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 The last thing I can think to try would be to remove power from the thermostat. If there is a humidity value in its memory that factory reset does not clear, removing power should. Leave power off for several minutes to be sure the power supply has drained Off.
LeeG Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I guess it was not the last thing. If the thermostat is measuring humidity as it does temperature in real time then how the solder tabs were shorted could be in question. Perhaps the jumper is not creating 0 ohms between the solder tabs, resulting in a very low humidity reading. Was a wire jumper used or a solder bridge?
jmed999 Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 I used solder. It went to 0 then after a couple days it went to 2%
