jmed999 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 What do you guys use for labels on your remotelinc2's? They grey pant come off very easily and it would be nice if they were labeled to note which device is associated with which button. Thanks!
jmed999 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Would these work for the remotelinc 2? http://www.smarthome.com/2401BT50/Popular-50-Button-Set-for-KeypadLinc-White/p.aspx If not any other ideas? Thanks!
jmed999 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 Or maybe this would work... http://www.amazon.com/Avery-Clear-Return-Address-Labels/dp/B00004Z6JZ/ref=sr_1_2?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1346949202&sr=1-2
Teken Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Would these work for the remotelinc 2? http://www.smarthome.com/2401BT50/Popular-50-Button-Set-for-KeypadLinc-White/p.aspx If not any other ideas? Thanks! You can not use those for the Remote Linc 2. Those plastic chicklets only fit on to a KPL. The buttons on the Remote Linc 2 do not come off. I have used a label maker and over all its acceptable. Teken . . .

I created a template and cut them out with scissors. I highly recommend this method for remotelinc 2 labels.
TJF1960 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 After sticking the printed label on do you spray them with a clear coat?

TJF1960 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Yes, but because I have to. I was looking for a method of printing for kpl buttons a few years ago and I came across a thread in the smarthome forum of someone using these http://www.papilio.com/white%20inkjet%20waterslide%20decal%20transfer%20paper%20media.html which are inkjet white water slide decals. Since they are water slide I have to spray them after printing and before cutting and wetting with a clear acrylic coat. Then after they dry on the buttons another coat or two is applied. Its kind of a pain and a long drawn out process, but the results are very nice. I asked about the clear coat because I am looking for a quicker, easier method of making the labels.
blueman2 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Do what I do. Just cover the labels with another clear labels (2 layers, with the top layer protecting the printed lower layer). Works perfectly and instantly!
oceanman93 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I have a P-touch printer that hooks up to my Mac (or PC). I can customize labels using images and I create a label with a small picture (fan or light) with speeds or on/off. I can print the text vertically in small font to fit more information on a button but I found a large "H", "M", or "L" for speeds is easier to see. I am working on customized images themselves depicting the function without words using different color tapes and various images. They are self laminating so they hold up quite well. The 3/8" tapes fit nicely on the remotelinc 2. The P-touch model I am using is the PT-2730 which also came with a P-touch editor for the Mac to make the custom labels and print right from the Mac. It works quite nicely. I'll have to take some pictures.
MWareman Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I have that P-touch as well - but have not used it for ages. Thanks for the tip - I need to dig it out. If I remember correctly, they make clear tape for it as well (with black 'ink'). That would be perfect as an overlay on blank buttons. Thanks!
oceanman93 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I grabbed a quick shot of the latest P-touch label which I think looks awesome. I put boxes around them and made one label per row. This is a 4 button switch so any off turns off the fan scene.
Kid_Icarus Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I just printed labels on my laser printer, and affixed them to the Remotelinc 2 unit with tape.
