email notifications error

I am having difficulty setting up email notifications for a client. I created a gmail account for them and entered their gmail account into the Recipients Tab. when i press test i get an error " Mail server failure " ( AUTH LOGIN not accepted )

 

Any thoughts?

The Auth failure is on send to the SMTP server. Did you enter the Gmail account info for SMTP ?

I left it as default.

 

I am not 100% sure on what to enter there. I thought default would send it out of universal devices server?

Okay I have entered the Demo account " isyalerts@gmail.com" and still same error. The ISY is forwarded. I can remotely log on, I port forwarded 857 just incase. Not sure why I am getting an error.

I wonder if you were sending a message with either a blank subject or body. Either of those conditions have been known to cause trouble.

  3. Adjust your preference.
