ejh3 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Good Evening all! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I acquired a Mighty Mule Driveway alert a while back but have yet to install it because I wasn't sure if I could link it into my Insteon network. (link to the device provided below) http://www.mightymule.com/pop/8.htm After looking around on simplehimenet.com I found this little device that Smarthome has on sale. Does anyone know if this device would communicate the Mighty Mule Drveway Alert system? The EZSnsRF looks to accept various wireless signals. (link to the EZSnsRF provided below) http://www.simplehomenet.com/proddetail ... ransceiver EZSnsRF - Wireless Sensor Receiver - Model #5010E Thanks in advance for your help, Ed
LeeG Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 The EZSnsRF works with the Dakota Alert 3000 series wireless devices. Nothing in the Mighty Mule documentation mentions compatibility with Dakota Alert technology.
ejh3 Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Thanks Lee! I figured I would just see if anyone has tried it. I will let you know what simplehomenet says.
LeeG Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Please do. It would be good to know for sure. The Mighty Mule uses a 4 bit code to identify transmitter and receiver. The Dakota Alert uses a 10 bit code. I don't see how the EZSnsRF could look at a 4 bit code and resolve it to the expected 10 bit Dakota Alert identifier.
Brian H Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Also a very good chance. They use a different RF frequency for their sensors. FCC Database would confirm the frequency used but you would need the FCC ID number for both of them.
