KeypadLinc button status wont reflect device state

Good Morning all!

So I just installed my first KPL, and everything went pretty well. I programmed my first button to control my gas fireplace by having

the "g" button control my insteon quietlinc outlet that powers the fireplace. The problem I have is that if I turn on my fireplace using

my mobilinc app on my ipad/iphone it won't light up the "g" button on my KPL.

Knowing that I use my mobilinc app quite frequently and that I plan to program similar devices/scenes I just want to have this "know how"

prior to adding other devices.

How do I get the "g" status light on my KPL to come on when I turn on the device linked to "g" using mobilinc?

I'm sure there is a small step I'm missing, but being new to programming I apologize.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Ed

Sorry, forgot to mention I am using an iSY99i and a PLM.

Yes, there is. You created a "scene" when you programmed your button to contol your fireplace. The scene included your button and your outletlinc. In order for both devices to reflect current status when controlled via mobilinc, you must turn on (or off) the scene, rather than turn on a single device within the scene.

oberkc,

Thanks for your input! I will reprogram when I get home.

I will reprogram when I get home.

I had assumed you had already created the scene and that the only change necessary was for you to change your behavior. Apparently not. Did you instead create an ISY program to turn on the outlet in response to a command from the switch? If so, I definitely suggest a scene, rather than a program.

Make sure your scene includes both outlet and switch, and make sure the switch is defined as "controller". Then, in moblinc, control the scene rather than outlet or switch directly.

And...yes...delete the old program.
