tflores Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 So my current projects is as followed 6 scene keypad connects to a fanlinc On-turns on Fan Fan High-Speed Control Fan Med-Speed Control Fan Low-Speed Control Fan Off-Off Off-Shut Off So the problem that I can't figure out is if I press the button fan high, then press fan medium, the speed switches correctly however the Fan High light on the keypad remains on. The second problem is that I cant directly change the fan speeds using mobilinc. I see an option for grouping but I don't understand this option very well and the ISY gives me multiple warnings.
LeeG Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 The Scene which has KPL button A as Controller with Fan speed High, KPL buttons B,C,D must be Responders with the Responder On Level set to 0%. When button A is pressed, buttons B,C,D turn Off. The Scene which has KPL button B as Controller with Fan speed Med, KPL buttons A,C,D must be Responders with the Responder On Level set to 0%. When button B is pressed, buttons A,C,D turn Off. And so on for the Scenes with buttons C and D as Controllers.
tflores Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 If I may clarify, does this mean that each button needs to be set up as a scene?
LeeG Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Yes. How did you create the relationship between the various KPL buttons and the FanLinc?
tflores Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I linked each individual button through the devices themselves as described by the fanlinc instructions, holding down each button to correlate with the flashing of the fanlinc. Works great as a keypad but otherwise no control from the mobile app.
LeeG Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 That is a problem. The ISY is not aware of the Set button links in the KeypadLinc and the FanLinc. The links will eventually be overlaid or deleted in one device or the other. Factory Reset both the KeypadLinc and the FanLinc followed by Restore Device to both devices. That will clean up the link database in both devices. Then define ISY Scenes to create the necessary KPL button to FanLinc relationships. Regarding MobiLinc that is correct. Secondary KPL buttons cannot be controlled individually. Even if the Controller was a SwitchLinc turning the SwitchLinc On does not turn on the SwitchLinc responders. The Scenes will be turned On/Off with MobiLinc when it is aware that the buttons are Controllers in ISY Scenes
tflores Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 So another problem has arisen. I can now touch each button with the appropriate response following your instructions however is it possible to have control with mobilinc? If I go to scenes and or/devices, and select fan medium, it actually turns on all scene devices. Same for any other speed control button within the mobilinc app
LeeG Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Click on the Scene name for the Fan speed High. Check the Responder On Levels for the Secondary buttons that should turn off. Are they set to the required 0% On Level. Each Controller establishes a unique set of responder values. The responder values when the KeypadLinc button is Controller must be correct. However, the PLM is the Controller device when turning the Scene name On/Off which is what MobiLinc uses. Also for the PLM as Controller to turn Secondary buttons Off with a Scene On the KeypadLinc must have firmware v.40 or higher. If the KeypadLinc has firmware before v.40 than extra work is required. ISY Programs have to be triggered when the PLM as Controller turns On a particular KPL button. The ISY Program then issues a Scene Off for a Scene that has the KPL Secondary buttons that should be Off. An ISY Program and Scene are required for each KPL Secondary button that is a Controller if the KPL firmware is below v.40
