robr Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I see that smart home has a 994i bundled with 2413S PLM for $270. Why wouldn't they bundle it with the 2412S and save me the wall outlet requirement since the 2412 will power the 994i directly? is there a performance difference between the 2413S and 2412S? I have a scarcity of outlets where I need to locate the device and am considering the 2412S PLM instead. Comments on pro's/con's of either PLM?
LeeG Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Smarthome no longer sells the 2412S. It was discontinued months ago.
robr Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Well I definitely consider that a con. Maybe we could create a forum topic or add a wiki topic to document the passing of various devices. There was no indication of the fate of the 2412s on the various retail sites. We could document the compatibility problems as well.
Brian H Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 The 2413S is Dual Band the old 2412S was not. The 2413S has a faster processor and memory. The 2412S was known to miss link entries if there where over 800 {yes a large system}. Even though it could hold >2000 entries. The reason the pass through outlet is gone. Stacking anything on the front would potentially block the RF antenna for the RF portion of the Dual Band System. Also the 2413S does not supply power to the ISY994i or ISY99i and is why an external one is in the kit. There is a list of devices compiled from users input data.
