I just got my ISY-994i/IR Pro. I was working on get it setup but am running into several issues. Hopefully someone can help.

1. When I try to navigate to the wiki I get a 404 error.

http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... User_Guide

2. I have an existing PLM. I am looking for instructions on how to sync it with my ISY device so I don't have to start from scratch. Is this possible? or do I need to reset my PLM and start from scratch.

Thanks,

Scott

UDI is migrating the web data to a new ISP which is why the wiki is down. They posted an estimate of a few hours.

Are you migrating from a 99i to the 994i using the same PLM?

If so restore an ISY backup from the 99i onto the 994i. That should be all that is needed.

If that is not scenario please detail the actual circumstances

I am moving from totally different software. I had been using Promixis Girder software and decided to change to ISY-994i/PRO. I have it up and running but before I start over was just wondering if there is a way to migrate all the links in the PLM database to ISY. If that's going to be a headache and the recommendation is to start all over then so be it, but before I go that route I thought I would ask. I have about 32 Insteon devices (most all of them are switches).

I can now get to the wiki. Thanks for the quick reply.

The ISY will not pull the information from the PLM. However, one device can be added using the "add devices found in links and keep existing links". Depending on how the devices are linked together it may take adding more than one device. Using the KPLs generally gets more devices than a single SwitchLinc.

I would recommend against using that method. Devices are defined by Insteon Address, not a meaningful name, and the Scenes defined from the links have numeric names (Scene 10, Scene 11). Also it is common to have broken links even in a working configuration which will be carried forward. Defining each device individually allows a meaningful name to be assigned as the device is added. Also using the "remove existing links" (default option) insures any half/broken links or references to devices that no longer exist are removed.
