Xathros Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Hi Wes- Has any progress been made in regard to the ability to make backups of Mobilinc configurations on the iOS platform? I once again lost part of my config yesterday after a PLM Failure/ISY Lockup. This time all I lost was my Program Favorites but those are some of the most customized favorites that I had It will take me a few days to get that back the way I had it. Thanks. -Xathros
InsteonNut Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi Xathros, We haven't moved forward on this yet. It's on our backburner. If you have another iOS device you can shoot the configuration from one iOS device to another through the Transfer Settings on the My Settings page. Wes

Wes Hi Wes- This was my previous solution to this problem. Unfortunately, I haven't updated the iPad copy in too long. I will be doing this again as soon as I get this rebuilt. Is it possible to make the configuration file accessible in the iTunes file transfer interface? Thanks. -Xathros
InsteonNut Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Unfortunately not. A full backup/restore captures the app data, but that's quite invasive to do a full backup restore just for the specific MobiLinc app data. Our solution will use iCloud to encrypt and store backup files that only you can access through your iTunes account inside of MobiLinc. Wes
Xathros Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Wes- I wasn't referring to a full iDevice backup/restore. Some apps allow you to add files, make backups etc via iTunes. My Invoicing app does this, The Kindle app, iBooks I think and a bunch of others. Not being an iApp developer, I really don't know what all is involved in hooking into that ability but I think all you would need to do is copy the same dataset you use when copying to another device to that "file area". Maybe leave the user/pass data out for security reasons. iCloud backups/restore will be good too. Will we be able to auto sync changes to/from multiple iDevices registered to the same iCloud account? -Xathros
InsteonNut Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 That might be an option as well. We'd have to investigate and make sure the data was protected. Wes
