Yes I believe so…before l dive into migrating current isy with serial Insteon PLM to eisy+USB PLM l would keep both setup in parallel question really is should l upgrade my isy 5.0.10 to 5.3 just to backup and migrate then go back to 5.0.10 or just use the 5.0.10 backup to migrate to eisy ? another option is to start all over but I have or 75 devices with dozens of timers and programs also l am sure if RR will work with the eisy so have to keep both in parallel for some time

I found that any version above 5.0.10 Roomie Remote APP commands lags 5-10 seconds, l posted this issue 1 year back and there could be no resolution on this. Hence I am struck on 5.0.10.

Any update @ Roomie Remote testing. Also my current ISY is 5.0.10 will this be ok to migrate to eisy?

Has anyone tried Roomie Remote ver 8+ with the new eisy + Insteon serial PLM…currency l have ISY994 + serial PLM and all devices show up in Roomie Remote manifest once you add the ISY as device. My goal is to migrate to eisy as the next gen product…assuming isy will eventually be phased out and all devices have a life 5-10 years max…using the isy for 8+ years

Yes same reasons love to continue to use RR…I used Hoobs 4 to find a way to get ISY devices into HomeKit and then to RR, but direct native integration is the best if it can work without the issues outlined, not sure what has broken from 5.0.10 onwards!

Hi Rob it seems you are on ver 5.x and experiencing the same slow lag response. I managed to open a ticket and the two companies are talking to each other but they want me to submit RR diagnosis using 4.x then move to 5.x then submit the diagnostic report. Problem is I cannot go to 5.x I tired few time and it breaks down all my setup. Also no guarantee that I will be forced to go back and forth between the two. How about you submit 5.x and I submit 4.x simple Insteon light on off command executed from RR activity on an iPad

Sorry I cannot as my entire HA will be impacted...heavily dependent on multiple rooms with controls for iPADs dedicated to each room with activities that are used to control devices, AV systems, etc...

Thanks and agreed...again as I said very clearly l am not going say who should own it and or take the lead l can only express my desire. If both companies don’t see any mutual benefit so be it....what l am sure is l or any other user like me shouldn’t be involved in this compatibility testing porting of latest version, etc...I hope you agree to this...?

Thanks for taking the initiative very much appreciated. Best thing would UDI and RR work together to make sure 5.x is fully tested with RR 6.x Just checking Was 5.x ever tested by RR or by UDI ? I am sure 4.7 or when first released might have gone though such testing by RR or UDI or jointly together...and now that we have a new firmware major change from UDI. IMHO and sincere desire to test it before final release either by RR or UDI but certainly not by a user like me or others who have reported slow response...thanks again

How do we know they are not interested...someone has to contact from each other if they (RR) are not keen maybe they don’t see UDI as a compelling platform and if UDI doesn’t want to contact RR (surely understand your argument h/w platform doesn’t work for RR) we end users are left in the air. However, if UDI sees that RR can help them sell more units it’s in their interest to initiate the discussion...same applies to RR. who will break the ice haha...having said that ISY with Insteon devices as the main component devices is no Apple, IMHO Insteon is losing the battle big time vs HomeKit compatible devices ...however their devices are the best and most reliable hope they don’t become legacy as such its in the best interest of UDI again IMHO they should initiate...just my 2 cents ! Surely they have Zigbee, Z-Wave device support but that market share is shrinking.

Again I guess we are missing the point here, as end user we can report the issue to both sides and hope for the best. Thanks

Agreed but if the system developers wanna sell more and more of their systems in the market place they work in @ HomeAutomation it’s in their interest as well to get popular APPS work and are fully supported. End consumers cannot solve these by building a communications bridge between two companies. All we can do is report the issues to both sides and that is what we have done.

I have Roomie remote 6.0 and installed lSY 5.+ Latest beta responses from iPad is slow 4/5 seconds lag. Revered back to 4.7.5 everything is fine. can some help please ?

It’s 3 to 4 seconds....I can try Scene activity but then it won’t show the status....I am using home bar scene for activity type in RR. Also ver thing works fine with ISY 4.7 it’s 5.x that’s the issue something is broken

Wow that’s impressive and I assume when you turn on the Insteon dimmer light it just turns on instantaneously. Not sure why in my case it takes 3/4 seconds...I tried everything that you suggested.

I am assuming you have Insteon switch that controls a light connected to ISY...so with ISY version 5x and RR ver 6 from MAC Mini when you turn on the light on how long is the lag, instantly or after 2/3 seconds ?

Also can you share what versions of ISY and RR you are using and overall devices count type, switch, dimmer, IO links
