    Ring Smart Lighting

@Michel Kohanim, I will thank you. I am not sure what logs you are referring to, the current Ring NS log is completely blank. Are they stored somewhere else? Kinda new to this NS world. Thanks Tom

    Ring Smart Lighting

They do not showup in the PGC log at all. May be a mute point anyway, In my uber exuberance, decided to try adding devices in cutom parameter using device ID's that Ring app and Alexa both use as values and different naming options like StepLight, RingBeam and so on. Long story short NS stopped working. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, NS will not come back on line, just stays disconnected, gives no option for account linking like in original install. So guessing I blew it up somehow. I can pull the same nodes from the Alexa app, using variables and programs able to still execute all the same functionality I had with NS.
  3. From my understanding they are discontinued. I installed Schlage Connect Z wave locks and have been very happy with their performance. They are compatible with ISY if you have Zwave model.

    Outdoor dimmer?

you could also use an in line micro dimmer, dependent on how light is mounted.
  5. I was wondering if anyone has been able to integrate the Ring Smart Lighting into the ISY or PGC Ring Node Sever. I have the doorbell set up on the Ring PGC and works quite well, it picked up the doorbell and MS without having to make any changes to configuration other then linking accounts. I got a few of the Ring smart light units, StepLight, FloodLight. etc. I know from other posters that the wired floodlight cameras are picked up by rhe PGC Ring NS. But none of the smart lighting shows in the NS. THe smart lighting requires a Ring Beam hub and links all the lighting and DB cam/ms together in their app. Alexa also shows each smart lighting device and their respective ms. I can use alexa routines to trigger variables, programs, etc. on the ISY and vice versa. It was a hope that it could be streamlined a bit without having to use alexa routines and control directly with ISY. Does anyone else use RIngs Smart lghting system and does anyone have adifferent integration idea? Thank Tom
  6. @paulbates, thanks for the suggestion, implemented and seems to be doing what it is supposed to. Thanks again for your help.
  7. I have been trying to figure out how a particular scenario would play out. If There is a door sensor and a motion sensor controlling a light and you have 2 programs, one in which the MS turns on the light waits 10 mins turns off light. Second one the door switch turns on the same light waits 5 mins and turns light off. If say the door is opened and light turns on and then the MS is tripped within that 5 min window, what happens? Does the light stay on for the initial 5 mins and then an additional 10? Does the MS wait time cancel the DS wait time and start the 10 min wait? Or is there something else that happens? Thanks Tom
  8. If you are using alexa app, it now has a option called GUARD, that when set to away alllows the dots, echo's, etc.. to monitor for noise. Specifically optioned are glss breaking and CO/Smoke alarms. If it detects these noises it will message you and also alert Rin or ADT if yu have their monitoring service. If you have a dot, you could place it within earshot of the alarm and see if it triggers, if so add a dot for 30 bucks. Hope this helped.

    Ring Polyglot Cloud

I installed the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge and a few of their Smart Lightining products, they work within the Ring app, but I do not see anything listed in the Ring NS for any of these Items. @bmercier what is the possibility of having the Smart Lighting added to the NS or is it planned already?
  10. Does anyone know if the Ring NS will work with the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge. Or better yet does anyone know how to add Ring Smart Lighting to the NS or to ISY in another way. I read somewhere that they are zwave devices and that is what the hub is for. I tried adding them as a zwave in ISY AC but no joy. The smart Lighting I am speaking of are all battery powered, Steplight, Pathlight, Spotlight and Floodlight Battery. https://shop.ring.com/pages/smart-lighting It would be great if I could incorporate MS from them into programs and set lighting and notification scenarios. Thanks Tom
  11. I am not sure what thread is being referred to, there was one I read a week or 2 ago, searched can't find it. I did set up alexa to announce when window sensors, door sensors, front door unlocked, etc.. First created state variable, window.front Then Created Program: window open - [ID 0072][Parent 0088][Run At Startup] If 'Security / Window sensor-Opened' Status is On Then $window.front = 1 Else $window.front = 0 Then went to PORTAL, Connectivity, Alexa---Drop down variables, picked widow.front, changed to contact sensor, gave SPOKEN Living room window. Then have alexa discover devices. Then go to alexa routines, pick devices, select Living room window, set when kitchen window open, then pick announcements, I picked all devices, type verbiage you want announced Save Routine, test. When window opens, program sets variable to 1, alexa recognizes sensor opened, announces your message, when window is closed, program resets variable to 0 . Think I got all the steps, hope this helps or is what you were looking for. Tom
  12. @MWareman very nice set of programs. I got things working, I uninstalled and reinstalled node server and now it works, I dunno...but it does. I plan on getting some additional ring lights and motion sensors now that I got this working. I may borrow from your programming above when I do. Just wondering do you know if the battery operated light, like stair lights work wih this node server, I am guessing they would, but then again I am not the best guesser as of late. Thanks Again for your help. @dbuss thanks for confirming it was set up correctly, appreciate the help.
  13. @MWareman Did you have to do anything other then link the account to get it working, i.e.: custom parameters on poly cloud, configuration under "Node servers in AC". I got a Doorbell 1, Installed it, Linked the account in poly cloud. It works on the Ring App and through Alexa notification and viewing, but I get nothing when trying to program with ISY. Trying to use Motion node, to turn on a light or send a notification, but no joy. Is there a step I am Missing?
  14. We have 2 of these essential oil diffusers, they are wifi enabled, use the smart life app and are Alexa compatible. I can stop and start them with verbal commands just fine. I was hoping to be able to program schedules at multiple times per day, or run 1 hr off 1 hr type of program. Their app has a scheduling option but would require setting a multiple schedules since there is no repeat. I was hoping to use network resources, but have been unable to find any api info on them. Has anyone used these and possibly have any info I could get. It would be a huge win for ha here with the missus, if I could manipulate them yhe way she wants. Thanks Tom
  15. That sounds spot on. Unfortunately I do not have a pi and I dont see it in poly cloud. I will probably wait until I have the polisy pro in hand, hopefully it will have it built in. Thanks to both of you for the rec.
  16. I have several 2843-222 window door sensors arriving this week and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation as to what double sided tape works the best. I have not had a lot of luck with the supplied tape in the past. Is there an option out there that seems to hold up over time and secondly is there a thin tape option? If not, what are you using for mounting these sensors, mounting with screw not an option. Thanks Tom
  17. I am trying to come up with a way for detecting arrival/departures from the house. I have looked into CAO tags and wifi connections and have been trying out Alexa arrival routine. The problem with alexa is it seems to only work about 25% of the time, the rest of the time it either never triggers or triggers several minutes after arriving. Wifi too, I believe would be to sporadic from what I have read and I am not sure I am savvy enough to actually pull that off. CAO tags seem at the moment to be the best option, but then again I have to rely on everyone actually having it with them, which I feel would be a feat in itself. All that being said, everyone carries there phone.. So I have been searching for some sort of bluetooth system that is not overly expensive and not overly complicated to accomplish the goal. The goal is simply to trigger programs upon certain persons arrival/departure and know if everyone is vacated. I have read some articles about Raspi projects and the like, but was wondering if anyone knows of/is using a bluetooth arrival/departure type device or has any additional recommendations that would helpful. Thanks Tom
  18. Sounds good. I currently have Kuna/Maximus LIght/Camear combos outside. I am mostly interested in using the motion detector trigger outdoor lighting brightening, which Kuna can not and will not allow you to control. I think I will give it a whirl, I found Amazon has reconditioned Ring for 90.00 so I can afford to try it for a test. Thanks for all you help and input.
  19. OK, Thanks. I will keep an eye open for updates on progress.
  20. I just got a email where they have them 50percent off right now. Also, it would be a bit more involved, but Iwould imagine you could place a flow meter and using the ISY tell it to shut off if it uses more than Xgallons in a given period. that should cover you ice machine and ice maker usage.
  21. I without a doubt agree that I am far from an advanced user, but I was wondering the following. Why not just use an insteon leak detector and hub with an appliance module or IOlinc. I think that would be the cheapest option, the hub will send notification is triggered and shut off the valve. I have started installing shut offs at home and I am using the ISY, along with Insteon leak detector and a valve off amazon that is like SH valve but less expensive, this is a link to the 1/2 inch version, normally open closed when power applied. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9LWXMW/?coliid=I3IOG340V1R46H&colid=3RV71YDQOJ1JF&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it, they have a 3/4 and 1 inch version as well.
  22. @MWareman thanks for the input. I have never used poly, but looked at the PGC and may try it with the ring to see what happens. Even though it says in develpment is any part of it currently usable?
  23. They do look nice, though I was hoping to find something a wee bit less expensive and possibly battery powered like the Ring II. Our house is from the 40's and is brick with interior plaster walls, there is no doorbell power run and not so keen on trying to drill and fish the way things have gone with other small mods I have tried with this house.
  24. It would be whatever your user name password is for your UDI account. If you look top right on that page, hit the drop down menu, at bottom of drop down is link to "My Account". Login or create one if you don't have already.
  25. Thanks very much, wll give it a try in a day or 2 and report back.
