  1. It will resort when you close and re-open the console also.
  2. Thanks Michel!
  3. Hi Michel, thanks for the reply. No, I am using the folders the way they are intended. Here is basically what I am doing. I have programs intended to run only on weekends, ie, the schedules are appropriate for weekends. Those programs go in the Weekends folder I have programs intended to run only on weekdays, ie, the schedules are appropriate for weekdays. Those programs go in the Weekdays folder So instead of each program having the appropriate days selected, I just turn the folders off and on based whether the current day is a weekday or weekend day. This way if a holiday falls on a weekday, as Christmas did this year, I can switch all of the scheduled programs over to the weekend schedule without having to each program or program 'holds' ahead of time. I can just freely switch back and forth by turning the folders off and on. So the folder conditions would determine if the current day is weekend or weekday and turn that folder on or off as required. But instead of doing it directly in folder conditions, I decided to use a 'flag' program that would determine weekend/weekday status and use that flag in folder conditions. And then I can use that flag program as a manual 'switch' to deviate from the normal schedule, such as a holiday. This is the part that I'm trying to decide the best way to do right now. (besides, I just like using flags in programs) I'm leaning toward doing another flag program called 'holiday' and 'anding' it with the folder enable program conditions; I can just turn it off and on manually (that's where the summary filter would be nice; I can have only the 'switch' program and enable status flags displayed) or even use X10 from my Harmony to turn off the weekday folder and turn on the weekend folder to use the weekend schedule on a holiday. I hope this makes sense. if not, don't worry about it!
  4. Yes, but I haven't tested yet. As I understand it, this should give me two flags, one for weekday and one for weekend: And then I use it for folder control: Same thing for the 'Weekend' programs folder. What I'm not crazy about is that if anything happens between the 'from' and 'to' and either flag goes low, there is nothing to reset it until its initial start time again. I guess I could do some code: if both flags are low (actually they both will be low during the changeover), that is not a legitimate condition, I could do something with that. I'm also having a little trouble deciding how to do the manual override, which is the whole point of this. If a holiday occurs on a weekday, I want to enable the 'weekend' folder and disable the 'weekday' folder, ie, run the weekend schedule on the holiday. I'm sure nobody wants to get sucked into this one. I'm even wondering if it is worth the trouble!
  5. I do have something of a similar scenario and it works fine: This folder condition enables a program every 4 am that allows a motion sensor to turn on the den lights when motion is detected, but only the first one after 4 am. It won't turn on the lights every time during the day when it detects motion. When 4 am rolls around the next day, it will enable it again. This has worked 100% perfectly since I put it in. Even my wife likes it . The X10 is there just as a manual trigger for testing, etc. It seems like the schedule I have in the original post is pretty similar. Any comments anyone? Thanks.
  6. Sweet.
  7. Thanks. As I said I know that I have to add some code to create exceptions to these (holiday is during the week), I was just addressing the 'normal' schedule here. I will probably do it via a program I turn on and off as a flag and 'or' it with the normal schedule permissive in the folder conditions. I'm thinking you are probably right in the first part, wondering if anyone has tried this. Thanks.

    Forums

Actually that would be quite handy right now as the forum appears to be having some technical difficulty. I have done a couple of postings that gave an error but still posted, and the email notification has not been working propoerly. MikeB tried to send me a PM that did not go through, also. It looks like it may just be in the email function. This is the error I got when I posted this original message: Failed sending email :: PHP :: DEBUG MODE Line : 234 File : emailer.php
  9. I decided to, instead of scheduling each event for weekdays, weekends, etc., to try setting up each program for every day and then placing them in the appropriate folder: Weekday programs, Weekend/Holiday programs, Everyday programs. Then I can just enable/disable the folders and that would take care of all of the events for that scenario. So if we are all off the week between Christmas and New Years, I just enable the Weekend/Holiday foler and disable the Weekday folder and I know that all of the scheduling will be right (assuming here that our behavior on vacation is the same as on a weekend). Anyway, long explanation aside, what is the best way to schedule those folders. This is what I have now: ----------------------------------------------- Folder Conditions for '_Weekday' Add conditions to limit when programs in this folder are allowed to run. If On Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri Time is 12:01:00AM Then Allow the programs in this folder to run. ------------------------------------------------ Folder Conditions for '_Weekend/Holiday' Add conditions to limit when programs in this folder are allowed to run. If On Sat, Sun Time is 12:01:00AM Then Allow the programs in this folder to run. ------------------------------------------------- Is this the right way to accomplish this or should I used "From/To"? On Saturday at 12:01 am does the Weekday folder disable? Likewise on Monday, will the Weekday folder take over and the Weekend disable? I know I still need to add some code manually control these ie, on a holiday disable the Weekday and enable the Weekend/Holiday, but right now I'm just concentrating on getting the normal scheduling right. Ideas? Thanks!
  10. Done.
  11. Good point, but I don't believe that to be the case since sometimes it works and goes off immediatley and also it works perfectly when the scene is triggered from the console.
  12. I was having trouble with it, too. I got an error when I tried to post once and the reply notification is not working, so I suspect PM will not work. I'm going out for a little while, we can try again when I get back, about an hour or so. thx..
  13. It's probably ok. Do you hava a paypal account?
  14. Mike, the used 2440 you have, are there any firmware issues with the age? Were there any revisions since you bought that one? Do you have a paypal account? Thanks.
  15. Yeah, $90 is a bit steep for something I may toss if/when I go to 99. Mike has a 543 for $12, I wouldn't feel so bad.
  16. I did not have any -2 in the log. I don't think it's a comm error anyway, because the scene control works fine from X10 trigger and manual control from the console, and that lamp works fine via manual control from the ISY as well. I'll do some more tests when I get a chance and don't risk getting the 'enough with the lights already.'
  17. I'd rather not fool with the beta for now, as I am out of town a lot. I am assuming I would just use the 543 as the IR>X10 bridge? I have a branch in my family room that is pretty solid. I have an X10 16 button ultrasonic controller/remote (you heard me right!) that started out 100% but lately has been getting intermittent in reliability to the ISY. But the ISY X10 signals coming back to that same branch which control the fireplace and digital picture frame are still 100%. So what you are saying is that I can try replacing the 16 button controller with the 543. If it is reliable, fine, if not reposition it very close to the PLM and use an IR extender (powermid or whatever) to get the Harmony signal there? Does it only do one house code? So that would be only 16 controls, unless you split them up. Does the Harmony have a built-in code set or is it best to 'learn'? I don't mind the second or two delay as long as I know it's going to work. Thanks for the help.
  18. Mike, I'm trying to decide which way to go for IR interface. I'm thinking about getting a Harmony 1000. I could trade up to 99 in a month or so, or I could wait for the IRLinc, which I think will take longer than they say and I don't even know if it will trigger ISY programs. If I make the jump now, do you know what the most reliable system is. I would assume it would involve X10 at this point and thus require an IR extender to get the X10 signals close to the ISY, but what is the best IR>X10 bridge that will work with the Harmony, do you think? Thanks!
  19. If you open it with Excel as a tab-delimited file, it displays very nicely.
  20. I can't view it in Excel either because the version on my home machine is too old (2000). There are macros in there to be able to sort the entries via drop-down, but my version chokes on them. My work laptop has 2003, works fine. It does show up also, when you generate the log, as an .rtf Word file. In my case, it is at the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\UDReport.rtf Not much on formatting, but the information is there.
  21. I can also trigger it from an X10 controller, which works fine. If Time is 11:00:00PM Or X10 'G16/Off (11)' is Received Or X10 'G16/On (3)' is Received Or Control 'CL2 Ch4 - 11 PM Shutdown' is switched On Or Control 'CL2 Ch4 - 11 PM Shutdown' is switched Off Then Set Scene 'SC-11 PM Shutdown' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  22. I have a scene that turns off two lamps by setting them to 0 and sets several others to various dim levels. It normally fires at 11 pm, but I wanted a manual control also so I programmed a CL button set so pressing either one would set the scene (didn't want to just link it because it would seem counterintuitive to press the ON button to turn most of the lamps OFF). Intermittently one of the lamps will not go to 0%. It's always the same one. It's status goes to OFF, but it remains ON. It responds fine individually with its linked button set on the same CL, so it's not a comm or module issue. It also works perfectly when turning the scene on manually in the console, as well as via an X10 trigger from a Maxi Controller. It seems to be strictly a CL issue. Anyone seen a similar problem? Thanks.
  23. Yes, makes much sense, thanks.
  24. I've noticed that running a program from the Summary page ignores the status of the enable/disable bit. Is that correct behavior? Thanks.
  25. I know where you're coming from, because when I first moved to the ISY it seemed kind of "unnatural" to create something called a "scene" just to link 2 switches. But, that's the correct way to do it, and there's nothing inefficient about it. It also makes things incredibly simple when you get into areas where you have 4 or 5 switches all cross-linked. I'm sure I'll get used to it. So if I want to link channel a on CL1 to lamp a, just creat a scene with only lamp a and drag CL1 channel a down to the scene, right? Will the All On on the CL work? And the dimming function? I'd just try it now, but I'm getting ready to leave.
